Offered for sale is a beautiful and well maintained 2006 Marlow Explorer 53 powered by twin Cat C-12 700hp diesels, which is quite possibly one of the best Marlow models ever made. This Marlow shines bright, with all of its beautiful woodwork in exceptional condition, as well as its perfectly waxed and cared for hull. The name of this gorgeous yacht, Blue Star, given by its current owners matches the exquisite offerings this vessel has to offer. At first glance stepping onto Blue Star you notice the teak rails shining as bright as the day they were installed, complimented by teak flooring throughout the lower deck of the vessel. As you move towards the transom of the vessel you are greeted with a covered cockpit with ample room for guests, as well as access to the lazarette / engine room and a walk through transom door to a swim platform. The real story starts when you walk into the salon of this masterpiece of a motor yacht.
Entering the salon you are greeted with teak and holly flooring, that is consistent throughout the entire yacht. The salon is very large, shows very well, has ample seating for all, and has a large hi/ low table. To the immediate right as you walk in there is a large wrap around style couch, with storage underneath. On the left there is a pair of custom power operated recliners that match the interior accents perfectly. Forward in the salon is a large flat screen TV, with a bookshelf to the immediate right. To top off the electronics package in Blue Star, a Yacht Controller was installed to remotly control this vessel and make docking a breeze.
Power is provided by a pair of Caterpillar 3196 C-12 engines with 2600 hours on them and a pair of ZF transmissions. Fuel frugality is where this Marlow exceeds expectations, as an 11 knot cruise will yield 8 gph. However, when it is time to get up and go, Blue Star will plane out and effortlessly move through the water. Caterpillar just completed a full 2500 hour service on both engines in preparation for the new owners. A Northern Lights Generator seamlessly powers all of the amenities of Blue Star when she is away from the dock. Blue star is also equipped with a watermaker allowing endless island cruises, which is located in the engine room.
Cabin amenities within Blue Star will delight anyone who walks on board. As you walk Forward of the lower helm, a wooden staircase will take you to the center hallway of the three staterooms. The main stateroom is located midship, and includes its own head with a walk in shower. The mid stateroom can double as an office, as it has a large desk and bunk beds. The forward stateroom is spacious, with plenty of storage and indirect lighting accents. The guest head has an access door to the main hallway, as well as an access door to the forward stateroom.
